Pondok Kayu Homestay is one of the two small wooden homestay rooms adjoined with an eclectic unique home resident designed by one of the well known architec Eko Prawoto, in the cultural village Tembi. In a few years back, this room was a very humble wooden room built aiming to accommodate friends visiting, or a just a multipurpose room. It has no private bathroom, a bit more open and less private.
As we get more needs from our friends who need a smaller space but comfortable to rest while enabling them to enjoy good food while experiencing staying in a Javanese village without blowing their budget, our team worked on many details and renovated this space to be more liveable and suitable to those needs.
The room of Pondok Kayu is slighly smaller than Pondok Yabbie (the other room adjoined to the house). Built of mahogany, teak wood & treated bamboos, on the timber deck with verandah, it has a beautiful antique solid teak four poster bed with seating room & a private garden. The verandah equipped with a dining table and chairs, allow you to sit enjoying your breakfast in the morning. This room built up high amongst the tree, gives you the sense of being living in a tree house. The private bathroom locates on the first floor, with hot/cold shower and toilet.
Pondok Kayu is suitable for a long term stay (weekly or monthly). So if you like to stay in a place where you’re not too far away from the city but far enough from the bustle of the Jogjakarta, then this is your place. Our Yabbiekayu team will be happy to assist you on your day to day needs.
